Comprehensive Eye Exam (Adults)

What Is a Comprehensive Eye Exam?

A comprehensive eye exam is more than just checking if you need glasses or contact lenses. It is a complete evaluation of your vision and overall eye health to help detect changes in your eyesight and identify eye conditions early, often before symptoms appear.

Regular eye exams play an important role in maintaining healthy vision throughout your life.

What to Expect During Your Visit

During your comprehensive eye exam, your doctor may:
  • Review your medical and vision history
  • Discuss any vision concerns or symptoms you may be experiencing
  • Measure your vision and determine if your glasses or contact lens prescription needs to be updated
  • Evaluate how your eyes work together, including focusing and eye movements
  • Examine the health of the front and back of your eyes
  • Screen for common eye diseases and other conditions that may affect your vision

At the end of your exam, your doctor will review the finidings with you and recommend any necessary treatment, follow-up care, or updated eyewear.
